Beginner growers start off better than their predecessors. Due to legalization, technology is allowing for more practical grow kits and environments. The old days when carrying out super low-profile home grow is starting to vanish. While you or your dad might have grown in the basement with reflective mylar surrounding the room, and heat lamps that threw your electric bill through the roof, today’s kits are simple, easy to use, and are optimized for anywhere in the house.

Trial and error are over. Gone are the days when, if you had to look up growing at home, you were met with low-key information that you had to jump through hoops for. In today’s grow space, information is widely available. You no longer need to consult with “Bob” the crazy hippie on your block who’s been growing for 30 years and continues to wear tie-dye t-shirts and hemp jewelry. While it is easier than ever to start growing in the confines of your own home, there are a number of tricks to getting it right the first time in order to optimize your ability to grow.

Grow kits make it simple, but there is still a process.

My wish for home-grow ventures would be to eventually have a fully automated process. Unfortunately, we do not have that yet and, if it did exist, it would be astronomically expensive.

Fortunately, the industry is taking the necessary steps in the right direction! While the Jetson’s future of cannabis is still a timeline away, the ability to grow effectively from home is now.

For many who wish to start things off at home, there are a few tips for producing your first harvest correctly!

Soil, Seeds, Light, and Air.

My hippie friends used to tell me:

“If you have bad seeds and good soil, you’ll still get decent results. If you flip the bill, you get nothing.”

In my time growing, this has become one of the messages that still ring loudly in my head.

Good soil will help you regardless of the quality of seed. Now, this isn’t to say that you will get the best results, but it’s a good thing to remember.

This is why we use CaliSuperSoil. In the early days of agriculture, many farmers found that valleys and the base of mountains would yield the best results. This is because all the sediments from the mountains would wash down into the valley and create extremely nutrient-rich soils. Well, California has some pretty tall mountains and some pretty agriculturally sound valleys! We take parts from different sections of California to give you a great blend of nutrient-rich super soil! By using this super soil, you do not need to use a “grow booster formula”.

Speaking of which, do not use any booster when using The Bud Grower. While it may seem like a good idea, using these can take away from the actual nutrients or potentially give your plant too much. Another thing to note is in order to use these boosters, you need to lower another factor. Typically that factor is water. Understanding how to grow the first time is THE most important step to producing the best buds.

Looking for the right seed or seed company is typically the most daunting task. With so many companies and regulations that put a halt on orders due the plants continued schedule 1 classification, obtaining your seeds can be one of the biggest challenges. If you live in a fully legalized state this shouldn’t be a problem. If you live in a state where medical cannabis is legalized, but recreational is still illegal, then you have to search elsewhere. Thankfully, you don’t need to pick out the seeds from your friend ditch-grow in order to get things done.

Doing the proper research will help you locate not only the type of strain that will best fit your comfort, but also provide you with a list of companies that you can order from. Check the reviews and make sure the company is reliable and organic.

Whichever kit that you decide to purchase will give you the most optimal lighting. For beginner growers, having a light that will maximize your growing efforts is extremely important. We offer multiple light units that work perfectly with our kits! Is it an HPS or an LED? Do you need more than one? Those questions matter and that is why we took care of it for you!

For air filtration, we use a charcoal carbon filter unit that removes all smells that come from your grow. That combined with our smell-proof tents will not only keep your house odor-free, but your neighbors will not be irritated by any odors wafting over.

Beginner Growers Choose The Bud Grower to help guide them through the learning process.

For many beginner growers, the complicated task of purchasing all the products at the local hardware store is no longer a challenge. When you have everything in one package, it’s easy as ever to grow your own plants for medical use or for recreational use. This is why so many choose us to give them their basics and learn to do things the right way!
